Change happens when we connect to others through sharing our emotional experience. I believe that all emotions are a gift and we are never meant to suffer alone. I have come to learn that so much healing comes from these two concepts. I have a deep gratitude for the mind and body connection because our emotions manifest in our body and in our behavior, giving life to our experience of the world. Once we learn to stop resisting emotion, our suffering will ease.
I gained an early love for counseling in high school when I took my first Psychology course. I graduated from Lamar University in 2019 with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I specialize in working with couples, families, and individuals struggling with relationship conflict, anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief . I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize this modality as well as Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), and parts work to target unresolved challenges in a number of life domains.
In addition to my love of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my husband and one-year-old daughter. Becoming a mother has been a life altering experience and has increased my empathetic capacity and overall depth of feeling. I love yard work, hiking, camping, horses, paddle boarding, and pickle-ball!
